For twenty years, I have been a maker of Nantucket Lightship Baskets. More importantly, I have been committed to maintaining the integrity of the craft - in tribute to both the basketmakers of the "New South Shoal" lightship and the craftsmen who passed their knowledge on to me. Although my baskets are traditionally sturdy, I strive to achieve a delicate look, incorporating finely carved staves, narrow weavers and carefully fashioned rims and handle.

I derive great satisfaction in creating a basket especially for your needs - a beautiful piece, traditionally constructed, which will bring you many years of pleasure.

Although you may be more familiar with "purses", the original lightship baskets were utilitarian work baskets - open rounds or ovals. I enjoy replicating these classic pieces as well as as the more ornate purses and presentation baskets popular today. Together, we can create a piece perfect for your tastes and lifestyle.
