In all my classes, it is important to me to perpetuate the tradition and fine craftsmanship of the Nantucket Lightship Basket. During our time together we will informally discuss the history of these baskets, the elements that combine to create a "true" Nantucket Lightship Basket, and aspects to be aware of when purchasing either an antique or contemporary piece.
The hours working on baskets with the wonderful women and men I have taught over the years have constituted some of my happiest moments. Each class takes on its own dynamic and, sometimes, the class adds to the essence of the finished product.
